Bru Le For Mac

You are welcome. TechTool Pro 6.0.2 should not be used while the Macintosh is booted from an installation of Lion until we have had a chance to test it with the commercial release. No amount of testing with the development builds of the system software can ensure full compatibility with the final release. In addition, it should not be used to change a volume that has been modified by Lion until we know for a fact whether the disk directory or metadata have changed in a way that requires updating TechTool Pro. TechTool Pro 6 has been worked on with all of the betas of Mac OS X Lion.

As I have stated repeatedly online since Tiger was released, and Apple made last-minute changes to the commercial release that were not in the betas, one simply cannot assume that there are no significant changes. Here is some text I received yesterday from the makers of the backup program used by NASA,:. Hi Folks, If you are upgrading a Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard system to Lion, you must create a backup of your BRU working environment before performing the Lion upgrade or your existing BRU LE operating parameters and catalogs will be deleted by the OS X update.

We are now able to share with you that the process of upgrading from a 10.6 system to Lion will cause your BRU LE environment to be deleted during the upgrade process. This was not identified earlier as the early BETA versions of Lion provided for developer testing did not delete the BRU working folder from the system when upgrading to 10.7 from 10.6. Before your perform the upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion, you must create a backup of your working environment. The simplest and most sure way of doing this is to use the 'bru' command from a terminal as follows: Open a Terminal Execute the following command - sudo bru -cvf /Desktop/BRUWorkFiles.bru /private/var/lib/bru Perform the Lion upgrade Open a Terminal Execute the following command - sudo bru -xvf /Desktop/BRUWorkFiles.bru This will properly backup and restore your BRU LE operating environment so that you may continue accessing your current BRU configuration and your catalogs. If you are not upgrading and are installing Lion fresh, a standard installation of BRU LE will work as it should.
