Duke Nukem On Mac Mini Problems : Steam For Mac
There is no real up and down mouse look, but you should be able to turn with it. It certainly works fine with the Atomic addition in OS X, although I'm not sure whether there is a difference between my game and yours.
Actually there is a simulated up down look tilt function in the original Duke3D build engine which pretty much is like mouselook. But I don't know how to enable it in the Mac version.
The OS X port should have it. I usually play the OpenGL Direct3D ports for Windows myself which improves the mouselook even more. The maker of was working on a Mac version of it but I've been waiting years and nothing has come out (although it would be even better if was ported). Which is too bad because I would like to play it on OS X with the. Slower and faster?

Well there is a 'simulated' mouse look (I realize how the Build engine actually works, but I'm going to simplify what I say and pretend it's a 3D engine instead of splitting semantics) that is bound to 'u' what I think I failed to notice is if that's a 'Hold down for mouselook' or a 'Press to toggle mouse look'.

Alas I am at work and cannot check. In a trip of nostalgia I've reinstalled Duke Nukem 3D. Years of training have made it impossible for me to play keyboard only. Is there any way to edit the config file to do traditional mouselook with WASD? Everything I think would enable it, or edit it to do it properly seems to have no effect.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions? I always play Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition with mouse look. It's not as built in and obvious as games that come later but it IS accessible from the your normal options panel. Go into options, select 'More Movement' and down at the bottom is a 'Mouse Aim' setting. Set it to Caps Lock.

Yes, it will. Surprising that it does, considering that the minimum stated was the geforce 8600, and the intel isn't as powerful as that. I guess it'll run, but very slowly. Why didnt they release it on the mac appstore and get rid of steam? Steam is better for games than MAP.
You can chat to your Windows gaming friends, whatever you buy on PC is free for Mac if it's available, and vice versa, join friends on multiplayer games, etc. I loved Duke Nukem.
When it first came out. I am so glad to have tried the demo, because I was close to going out to buy it. After playing the first level, I knew this game wasn't good at all. The controls were terrible and the graphics, wow, the graphics were a joke. I enjoyed the gameplay from the original game more than I did with this one. Or maybe I'm spoiled from how epic FPS games have become in the last 10 years. Actually no, I hate to say it.
But this game SUCKED and should be AVOIDED. Advice Don't buy it. Mac port gets even worst. In steam page, there is no system spec. You don't know whether your Mac can handle.
Honestly gaming on Mac is really bad idea. Advice Read the thread before posting. If anyone can answer me this Do steam games bought on PC transfer over to Mac (and vise versa)? I might scoop this game up to test out some light gaming on my mac, but most likely it won't run well (13' 2010 MBP) in which case I would switch and play it on my gaming rig.
Yes, they do so long as they support SteamPlay (Duke Nukem Forever does, alongside every other Mac game currently on Steam).
