Lg Scan Mouse For Mac
The LG LSM-100 may be the size of a regular mouse, but it has a built-in scanner on its base. By clicking the Smart Scan button on the left hand side of the rodent it automatically starts an app and begins capturing whatever is underneath the mouse. As you can see in the video below, swiping the mouse back and forth slowly forms an image of an entire document.
You can actually do this for documents and images up to A3 in size. Once the scan is complete you then have further options for rotating or cropping the image before saving it as a PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PDF, XLS, or DOC file. LG has also considered you may want to scan a written document, so the software that ships with the mouse has Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality. It can take a text document scan, figure out what the text is, and convert it to an editable Word document. We don’t know how much the LSM-100 costs yet, but LG describes it as a “top-end mouse” so expect the price to match with a premium above most other mice.

If it’s replacing the need to buy a scanner though, it could end up being a good investment even if it does cost a little more. LG will be demonstrating the mouse during in Berlin, which runs from September 2-7. After that we hope to have a price and release date announced.
