It likely that someone or something has redirected the console to the serial port. You check this by attaching a serial console to the first serial port. If you haven't got a serial console the power the Ultra 60 off and then hold both the Stop and N keys down whilst you turn the power back on and until you see the banner and post messages. This will reset the default NVRAM settings and is the equivalent to entering 'set-defaults' at the ok prompt. Hello, How your system?
After try some solution previous advise can you see something on screen? Usually the system's NVRAM should handle your system before start the Solaris. If you system is nothing wrong. You should see the System check report on screen as such as you can see from dmesg command. For example Your Host id, Ram capacity, system mount points, etc.
So, I have another solution if you would like to try. Turn off you system. Check the connection between monitor connector and the Ultra 60 VGA port. It better if you spry it with the contact cleaner. Turn the start switch clockwise to the diagnosis position (then right most position).
Push the boot button to start the system, wait for while (about 15 - 20 minutes cool boot, with machine diganosis). 4.1 If your VGA card and the monitor is in function. It should show start up message on screen. If at last it turn to a single mode and require root password for maintanance. You type the root password and press enter. Once, you can see the promp, please type 'eeprom' and find the 'output-device='. If it is not 'screen'.
Type: eeprom output-device=screen It will set the output device to screen instead of the current set. I guest it should be something like 'output-device=ttya'.
4.2 If you can have the screen output and it turn you to 'OK' mode. Type 'printenv' you will see the eeprom parameters too. Check for the output-device and set it to 'screen' by command. Setenv output-device screen Hope this can help.
For more infomation about eeprom. Please follow this webpage: By the way, if you get notthing on screen. Though, you have check all the interface cards and the connections. I suggest you request for the vendor's support. Dear Friends, I have tried all the suggestions, but still got same problem untill now. Yesterday, I tried to change Power Supply Unit (PSU) from another SUN Ultra 60 machine.
After PSU replacement, surprised, machine can display RAM Capacity, Host ID, etc on the screen. I can send 'Stop - A' and the system went to OK prompt and run command 'set-defaults'.
I have checked that the 'output-device' has been set to screen. After that, I power off the machine and tried to power it on again. Unfortunately, untill now the machine can not boot anymore.;-( I have tried to change the PSU again, change Memory, and Processor module from the other machine, but there is no luck. I have tried to connect the serial cable through HyperTerminal, but there is no signal on the HyperTerminal screen. Oh.why it is so hard.please give me any advise anymore.
Thanks, -feri. Please don't give up. If you can see it once. It means the system can be in a functional machine.
Please recheck the connection again something may not properly fix. Spry the contact clearner and check the the power cable and the other peripheral conenction. Try it again. I hope you can get it back.

I'm in a desperate pursuit for Tools and Drivers CD for the six of my Ultra 20 M2 workstations - some of them have latest BIOS, some of them don't. Oracle doesn't support them anymore - I even bought myself a CSI to get to support, but still no luck - and it seems the ISOs are nowhere to be found outside Oracle's web as well, which confuses me a little, but then again, Oracle has no need for supporting obsolete Sun hardware. If there's no chance of getting the ISOs, is there a way how to dump the BIOS from one workstation and flash it to another? Other than that I've no other ideas how to upgrade the BIOS of the older machines. I'm open to any ideas you might have, thanks in advance for anything that could help me (other than getting rid of those wonderful machines, of course).
Sun Ultra 20 Drivers For Macbook Pro
You are right, I've found it under the code you provided. Alas, it seems I have access just to Software patches, not firmware:-/ I'm getting the hold of Oracle Support quite slowly - I need a Systems contract asset to get to firmware patches? In layman's terms - what would I need to purchase to get this?
Sun Ultra 20 Drivers For Mac
Is it even posssible for an individual? And I guess it would cost me more than the six Suns altogether. I haven't contacted anyone from the Oracle support with this directly - is it worth a try at least? Or should I accept the fact the BIOS versions on these machines are final?:-( - Post updated 03-02-15 at 08:34 AM - Previous update was 02-02-15 at 10:47 PM - I was clicking through the support site and Oracle web - if I get it, I need for instance premium support for Solaris 11 ($1000/yr) to get to the firmware - not that in makes much sense to me to be honest - which is almost the same price I paid for all of my machines, as I did suspect - but if I got this support plan, I could install Solaris 11 and get access to the repos and patches as well, right?
- but I'm not sure if for just one or I could use it on all of them? Well, it's a lot of money for me, but I'll probably better start saving then.
